Milan To Lake Garda

1 Hour (+30 minutes)…A day trip to Sirmione!

You don't need to travel far or spend a lot of money to find some beautiful spots around Milan...

For just €9.20, you can get a train from Centrale FS to 'Desenzano Del Garda-Sirmione' in 90mins and then take a 5min bus onto one of our favourite islands on Lake Garda... Sirmione.

Since the 1st century BC, this area of the Garda, including what is now Sirmione, became a favourite with rich families coming from Verona, then the main Roman city in north-east Italy. The famous poet Catullus praised the beauties of the city and was regularly inspired at his own villa in the area.

Today you can still enjoy this stunning historic town, the floating castle in the water, or even take a swim or hire a boat to enjoy the crystal clear waters!

PRO TIP: Take a hike down to Jamaica Beach, its the best spot on the island for a swim and there's a bunch of beach bars (be warned: most drinks are as much as the train ticket!)
