The Most Beautiful Residence?

Stepping out of the Green line at Sant'Ambrogio, you will notice the 'Disney Castle' of Castello Cova; a regular fixture on the "most beautiful palaces in Milan". But is it number one?

Via Carducci 36, despite looking like a medieval fortress, is a residential condominium constructed less than 100 years ago, which in Milanese-terms, was just yesterday!

The eccentric Palazzo owes its name to architect Adolfo Coppedè, together with his famous brother Gino. The castle evokes a mixture of Art Nouveau and history with its traditional battlement towers with contrasting red & white stone. In fact, the brothers created a real architectural style that today takes their name and same style from this famous building.

FUN FACT Torre Velasca (a building we ironically proposed as the ugliest in Milan), was inspired by Castello Cova. With a little squint, you can find the similarities looking at the base of the castle.
