The Bar Of The Century

“While the city was in the middle of a severe economic crisis, the first repair shops were born and the city centre roads were still trodden by vehicles towed by horses… just a hop from Sant’Ambrogio and the Last Supper, a new place would open its doors and leave its mark on every milanese, regardless of age or social class.”

Bar Magenta is about to celebrate its 115th anniversary on the 13 of April, making this bar one of the longest standing in Milan.

First opened in 1907, located close to Cattolica University, known by most due to its happy hour & classic, early-century liberty style where one can spend time with friends, dining, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee..

More than any other public space in the city, Bar Magenta has shared with Milan its saddest and finest hours of the century marked by the two world wars, different social movements & radical cultural changes.

Bar Magenta is determined to break into its second century with the same, perpetual mission: to provide Milan’s people and all friends, regardless of race, age & ideas, an unforgettable place to spend their finest hour of the day.

Location: Via Giosuè Carducci, 13, 20123 Milano MI
