Milan To Bergamo

One of Italy’s more beautiful cities also fondly known as the “Mountain Home” is located just one hour from Milan…

Take a day trip to Bergamo, go hiking and eat Stracciatella in the town where it was born!

How to reach Bergamo

Take a train directly from Centrale FS with departures available every 20 minutes. Tickets cost €4.80 one way and can be purchased either online (recommended), at the ticket machines or through the vendors where the magazine stands are.

TIP: if you purchase your tickets at the station, make sure to stamp them before departing each way to avoid any fines as they will be checked on board!

What to do in bergamo

While the Upper part of town (Bergamo Alta) houses the majority of the most significant monuments & mountain views, the Lower part of town (Bergamo Bassa) is also of ancient origin in the same way and provides a range of different local restaurants, shops & bars to visit.

Our recommendations: Vino Buono for a budget friendly option & Al Carroponte for dinner.
